Be One Of The 2% In 2017

It is around this time of year that marketers and trainers alike in the fitness industry are gearing up for their most profitable time of the year and will be selling you the dream of fitness and promise of a sexy body. Heck, I will be one of them when my book comes out in 3 – 4 weeks time!

You are about to be bombarded with fitness marketing 101 and you have all heard it before and know the cheesy tag lines that they all like to use…
Things like;

“6 Weeks to a 6 Pack”

“Lose 10kg in 10 Weeks”

“Bounce your way to a new bum”

“Sweat to a sexy body this summer”
Let me give you a little bit of reality in this industry and let you in on a little secret that no one is telling you.


98% of you reading this article will NEVER reach your fitness goals.


That could mean that you will never achieve the body fat % that you want, or never be as strong as you want or be able to run the marathon you want or as simple as working on your posture.

I don’t say this to be all doom and gloom or to try and sell you a copy of my book (although you should buy it as it is going to be FIRE! LOL) I say it because I am sick and tired of you being lied to and told that you can reach your fitness goals or have phenomenal body in 6 weeks time.

The 98% of you that won’t reach your goals won’t reach them NOT because you don’t know what to do but because you don’t have the PATIENCE to achieve them.

You think the life you have lead for the past 10, 20, 30, 40 years can be undone in 6 weeks.

You think that you don’t have to put in the work on the rainy days, Christmas day or on your birthday.

You think that this magic cleanse you are on will now finally work for you and make the fat melt off your body.
The fitness industry plays on these thoughts and insecurities and makes A LOT of money by selling you this idea that we have a magic idea that only we know and that if you pay us we will let you in on that secret.




We all know that we shouldn’t be choosing the chocolate bar over the piece of fruit and we all know that we should be getting to the gym 3 or 4 times a week. It isn’t your knowledge that is holding you back from your fitness goals it is your patience to see it through when times get tough or when the results arent coming through as quick as they did in week 1.
I want to issue you a challenge for the coming year. Now I would usually use a quote here and say “what makes January 1st any different to December 8th”, but lets be honest, no one is starting a new health kick or training program on December 8th as we head into the Christmas Party Season, so I am not even going to try and change your mind.

The challenge is this;




You know and I know that as certain as the sun will rise tomorrow that 1 week in, 1 month in, 1 year in, at some point in 2017 your New Years motivation is going to drop. Results are never linear and you are going to have weeks where you don’t see any progress and you are going to want to stop. At some point you are going to say that one chocolate bar won’t hurt or that one missed training session won’t make a difference and we all know that this is where it starts. This is where you then miss two sessions the following week or you have two chocolate bars and it is at this point that your progress grinds to a halt and you officially give up and become one of the 98% again.

I want you to do 1 thing.



Be one of the 2% that keeps going, that keeps putting in the work, that picks up the piece of fruit, that says no to the cake at Susie’s birthday and just keep going.
If you can do this you will be one of the 2% that will reach their goals, it is as inevitable as having to pay taxes, you just have to be willing to the have PATIENCE and put in the work when everything is telling you to stop.
